The spoken and sung texts for Of a Just Content are based on excerpts of Thoreau s Flute, a poem written in memory of Henry David Thoreau by Louisa May Alcott and published in Atlantic magazine during the summer of 1863 and a notable quote from Thoreau’s Walden, published in 1854.
